Just two weeks ago Pope Francis said this:
“The principle of the centrality of the human person, firmly stated by my beloved Predecessor, Benedict XVI, obliges us to always prioritise personal safety over national security. It is necessary, therefore, to ensure that agents in charge of border control are properly trained. The situation of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees requires that they be guaranteed personal safety and access to basic services. For the sake of the fundamental dignity of every human person, we must strive to find alternative solutions to detention for those who enter a country without authorization.”
Notice he said that it ‘obliges us to always prioritize personal safety over national security.’ Being that he was speaking in the context of the migrant on the ‘World Day of Migrants and Refugees’ it is most probable that he was speaking on behalf of the illegal alien, and their personal safety over the rights and safety of the already existing citizen. There is no reference to law and order. There is no reference to terrorism, human trafficking, crime (MS-13 and drug cartels), or the drag on the economy due to federal entitlement programs for such illegals. There is no reference to the numerous cases of American citizens killed by illegal alien felons.
Referencing Pope Francis’ attack on conservative American Catholics, one can easily see his preferential option for the non-American, non-free market, non-conservative, immigrant. Pope Francis, through his words and ideas, his arsenal, is a threat to American national security. For in his words he encourages Democrats and all other anti-American, anti-Constitutional, radicals.
Being spoiled by the papacies of St. Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI, I, like so many other traditional Catholics, became accustomed to a Pope that stood for the rights of all human persons. But with Pope Francis, Catholic shock therapy is underway! Francis is an advocate of socialism, see his friendship with Maduro in Venezuela, an advocate of climate change, an advocate of adultery and homosexuality (read Amoris Laetitia).
As an American Catholic, someone concerned with national security and the economy, are we forced by the fallible opinion of the Pope into taking part in classical progressive social justice? As citizens in southern states bordering Mexico, are we obliged to sacrifice our own human dignity to acquiesce to a Pope who has little regard for our personal safety?
Adding his Amoris Laetitia debacle concerning adultery and the Eucharist, not to mention his criticism of conservative American Catholics, and his dismissal of traditional Catholics from important ecclesial positions, is Pope Francis credible anymore, with his daily rants and ravings about every topic conceivable?
Is it time for another Pope? A real Pope.
