“Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly,
and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, he added:
Like obedient children,
do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance
but, as he who called you is holy,
be holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct,
for it is written, Be holy because I am holy.”
We live in unprecedented times in American history.
Like never before, we are facing a leadership vacuum evident in a current sitting anti-American President, an impotent Congress, and two Presidential candidates vehemently disliked by a large majority of voters, correctly questioned for their personal integrity, and in the opportune position they are in solely through power, money, and political manipulation.
Our national debt is soaring through apathy and fiscal irresponsibility. Our borders are porous through the immature and dangerous emotional inclusiveness of political correctness. Our inner cities are Democrat havens for ‘black on black’ crime. This is further compounded by the ‘progressive’ answer to the inner city problem of inciting racial division through groups such as ‘Black Lives Matter.’ The ‘culture of death’ still pervades the national landscape through federally funded eugenics. Gay ‘marriage’ is now Judicially sanctified. Transgenderism has come to a locker room, and a bathroom, to a town near you! Wages are stagnant; bills aren’t! Good jobs are being replaced daily by low paying, part time jobs. Families are fractured by divorce, contraception, and the promiscuity of our ‘popular’ society. Constitutional rights are being turned into socially-acceptable-attacked ‘wrongs.’ God is never dead…but He surely is hidden in the public square, and in the educational system. Young people are intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally stunted by the burden of electronic advancements, educational lunacy, the pop culture, and political correctness.
So Catholics, Christians, and people of good will, have reacted with anger, boycotting Target and Starbucks; choosing reactionary candidates such as Donald Trump; or having gone in justifiable, but ineffective, hiding through ‘Never’ (whomever) movements mentioned in the above title.
But there is a better way (Way)!
Imagine if Catholics en masse (In Mass) returned, fully believing, to the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession), and to the Eucharist (Jesus Himself). Imagine if Catholics actually started listening to the successors of the Apostles, and in giving up the cafeteria, find the Eucharistic banquet of Truth, Justice, and Divine Mercy, properly balanced. Maybe they would raise up the next great leader (with integrity). Maybe they would cultivate a voter base with some spiritual scruples. Maybe they would give rise to a generation of entrepreneurs, politicians, voters, lawmakers, healthcare workers and citizens who lived the gospel to the fullest. Maybe then abortion, euthanasia, professional racial division, crony capitalism, creeping socialism, radical feminism, militant atheism, radical homosexuality, agnostic apathy, skepticism, and all of the other isms and ideologies that plague our nation, would be lessened, and possible relegated to ancient historical facts.
This can only happen if you and I start this countercultural movement…now! Fully Catholic, fully American, fully for the glory of God and the prosperity of our children.
Let’s start by praying for the strength today…
