Hillary and Donald are in the lead.
And this begs the question: ‘what sort of America do you want?’
Jesus withdrew in prayer before every major decision he had to make. Likewise, as disciples of Christ, whether Traditional Catholic or Evangelical, whether bible based or from an ancient Biblical, Liturgical, and Sacramental source, we must do the same.
We must decide whether we want the America desired by our founding fathers, based on the Constitution, and unalienable rights given solely by God, or do we desire the America of the moderate or the liberal, fashioned after Europe, or an imagined socialist utopia.
If we desire the America of our founding fathers, fashioned on the Constitution, unalienable rights given by God alone, based on Judeo-Christian convictions, this limits our Presidential choices to four, with only two realistic candidates. John Kasich and Dr. Ben Carson are good and decent men, with a vision of America in keeping with our founding fathers. Yet, realistically, they have no chance to win this election.
And then there were two.
Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio represent the only two choices for an American seeking to return America back to her true roots in the Constitution, as understood by the men who actually wrote it, unalienable rights, given solely by God, and not given or taken by government, and sound Judeo-Christian principles, open to religious freedom for all, under one Constitution, one law, and one common patriotic bond.
If, however, you desire an America shaped to popular whim, shaped to form a common bond with other ‘United Nations,’ shaped in a socialistic fashion, shaped to cooperate with other secularist, socialist, progressive, utopian societies, you have three candidates to choose from.
If you choose for a Socialistic America you have Bernie Sanders. If you seek to continue the legacy of Barack Obama, in economic redistribution, swelling government, an ever weakening military, racial division for power purposes, and attacks on every Constitutional right, you have Hillary Clinton. If you want Barack Obama 2.0, an egotistical giant, ready to abuse Executive Power, usurping Congressional disagreement, while interpreting the Constitution as he sees fit, you have Donald Trump.
We must withdraw from the banter, propaganda, lies, myths, putrid pundits, fallacies, false ideologies, heresies, and silliness of the mainstream media–sadly, to include the ‘fair and balanced’ Fox-Trump-News.
We must take time to pray to God for His vision for America. What does the gospel say? What does Catholic Social Teaching say? Specifically, what do the Pope’s say about both socialism and liberalism? Which candidates are truly, and lifelong faithful to, Pro-Life? Which candidates are truly without socialistic (medicine) tendencies? Which candidates will truly protect Constitutional rights such as religious freedom and the right to bear arms for personal and family protection? Which candidate cares more about America than their own vain glory?
As far as I am concerned, there are only two. Cruz and Rubio. Any other choice is Pro-Choice, Pro-Socialism, anti-family, anti-Constitution, and anti founding fathers. For in choosing Sanders, Clinton or Trump you choose against both inalienable rights and the God who gives them.
