When Cardinals fly the coop

Within the belly of the recent ‘Synod on the Family’ rests the unrest of the secular-progressive urge within the College of Cardinals in the Catholic Church.

This urge seeks to legitimize illicit Catholic practice, unlinking it from unchanging doctrine, for the purpose of politically correct ‘pragmatism,’ in search of popular secular acceptance.

Cardinal Walter Kasper has effectively tried to introduce this un-holiness into Holy Catholic Tradition by attempting to legitimize formerly divorced, and civilly remarried Catholics.  In doing so, he unwittingly (or wittingly?) scandalizes many of the faithful by destroying the Divine, Paschal concepts of the ‘indissolubility of marriage,’ the ‘forever’ ontology of the marital bond, and the reality of ‘true’ love in marriage as the Sacramental participation in Christ, the Groom, married to His Bride the Church.

Walter Kasper, ever the progressive semantic expert, utilizes the popular rational of ‘extenuating circumstances’ and ‘pastoral prudence.’ Yet, as Cardinal Caffarra responds, ‘a prudent adultery cannot exist.’ If marriage is truly indissoluble, and the marital bond bears an unchanging ontological mark on the soul of the spouses, marking their marriage in the image of the Marriage of Christ and His Bride, the Church, how can divorce and civil remarriage be anything but adultery?

And how can adultery, un-repented, be compatible with the holiness, and the unity (communion) of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist?

To make matters worse, Kasper, and his progressive compatriots, play the progressive populist game. They distort the reality of the ‘Sensus Fidelium’ to mean solely the understanding of the laity. Consequently, they set up the progressive paradigm within the Church where the laity is the ‘cutting edge’ of the faith, confronting the ‘out of date’ conservative ‘patriarchal’ clergy.

But Walter Kasper knows better!

He purposefully omits the true meaning of the ‘Sensus Fidelium’ to include the clergy. He also obscures the wisdom of G.K. Chesterton in reminding the faithful that the voice of Tradition, the ‘Sensus Fidelium,’ and the participation in the ‘development’ of the Holy Spirit also belongs to the dead. For Catholicism is not a ‘popular progressive’ movement. Rather, it is the perennial Truth of Jesus Christ shared by the Church Militant, Purgative, and Heavenly.

In the end, Walter Kasper cannot overrule Jesus Christ!

Kasper cannot overrule the ‘indissolubility of marriage,’ taught by Jesus as set out in Genesis 1:27 and 2:24. He cannot overcome the overwhelming Patristic evidence. He can, however, continue to be a secularist-progressive-heretic, pointing to historical abuses of marriage, anomalies in a constant line of Tradition, manipulating the hearts and minds of uninformed Catholics.

He can continue to fly the coop!

But the Eucharist will remain the Sacrament of indissoluble unity in the Marriage of the Church to her Groom and Savior. Mercy demands the opportunity of forgiveness for the divorced and civilly remarried. Justice demands pure respect for Eucharistic truth.

Justice and Truth deny Communion for unrepentant sinners. Justice and Truth deny Communion for the divorced and civilly remarried Catholic unwilling to discontinue their false marriage. Mercy is Justice and Truth upheld.

Walter Kasper  denies this Merciful Truth Revelation through the lie of the imposter of Divine Mercy, ‘secular-progressive-compassion.’
